How do you create one of the toughest, fastest growing business networks in North America? Lots of teamwork and hustle, eh?
To help the not-for-profit organization Hockey Players in Business (HPIB) go from a startup idea to a global business network with 15 chapters in less than two years, we developed a unique brand positioning and personality. Then brought it to life through a hard-hitting website as well as digital, social, and local marketing support designed to connect to hockey players in a way only they could appreciate and celebrate. (Sorry, we meant “celly.”)

Some describe our HPIB website as a strong 2-way player designed to 1.) quickly explain to non-members why they should join HPIB and 2.) give current members access to a searchable database of member profiles, as well as allow them to pose a business or hockey related question to the network. Those members who respond can earn points (“assists”).

Other keys to success: ongoing social and digital paid media campaigns to ensure we’re getting in front of the right goal scorers at the right time, and converting them to HPIB playmakers.

From exclusive HPIB Senior Hockey tournaments to panel discussions and happy hours with former NHLers, let’s drive “Business Gretzkys” to local HPIB events all across North America. Because nothing beats face-to-face networking. (Just keep the gloves on, boys.)
