Here are a few things I know about zombies:
- They’re in 1 billion movies (give or take a million)
- They walk like babies
- They used to be dead, but then they came back to life
Ok, so #3 is common knowledge. In fact, it may be the very definition of a zombie. But I bring it up for a reason. See, with so many big-name companies falling on hard times these days, the idea of “coming back to life” seems extremely relevant. And with some expert agency help, maybe even achievable.
So with that, we present Brokaw’s LIFE Program: four tools to help your brand rise from the near-dead.
Logo redesign: Think of your logo as the face of your brand. Now think of it as your actual face. If your logo feels like it has a mullet or a chin strap beard, then maybe it needs a makeover. Because even with zero design experience, the average consumer can tell if a logo’s outdated. So make like Google (or our favorite local world-class brewery) and evolve your logo to something that’s both contemporary and easily identifiable.
Identity rebrand: How is your brand perceived? Not good? Then maybe it’s time to redefine it. Develop a whole new look and feel. Give customers a reason to be excited about your brand again. Yes, even if that means “glazing” over the very foundation of your company. Whatever it takes to revive consumer loyalty and eat your competition alive (figuratively, of course).
Focused positioning: How has Aldi become a direct competitor with Whole Foods? The same way Apple has been mutilating Microsoft since the late ’90s. They carved out a unique space in their categories and completely owned them. If you want to rise from the grave, you might need to start breaking new ultra-focused ground (copyright, 2018 Brokaw Inc.).
Engage, engage, engage: Social media is for much more than “babies in a pumpkin patch” pictures (even though they’re #adorbs). It’s an opportunity for brands to engage with consumers and feel more human…yes, even if you’re also part monster.
So, if you need to breathe new life into your company, Brokaw’s LIFE Program is here to help. Unless, of course, there’s an actual zombie apocalypse…then none of this really matters.
Have a monster weekend, everybody!
