Do what you love, even if it keeps you up at night.

“Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.” – Steve Jobs

I usually talk a lot about animation and design and how amazing it can be for your brand engagement. But this week, I’m just going to say, I animate sometimes because I love to. And that’s what life’s all about, right? Doing what you love. Yeah.

Recently I participated in an animation collaboration project called, “Chainamation.” Chainamation was the brain child of 3 fine animators who wanted to collaborate more for the sake of collaboration.

“Each contributor was given seventy-two hours to animate 1-2 seconds adding to what the previous animator had done.”

Of those seventy-two hours, I spent fourteen hours creating the below animation. Yup, it takes that long for 2 seconds of animation. Sometimes longer (or shorter, but who am I kidding?)

Even though it was tough and I didn’t sleep much during this project, I thoroughly enjoyed each hour of it because I was doing something I love.

And there are lots and lots of outlets that inspire creativity and collaboration for animators and artists alike.

So folks, do what you love – especially if it keeps you up at night.
